Jeanne Louise Stonesifer Swinehart

February 14, 1929 - November 7, 2024

Carmichael, California - Jeanne was born in Sacramento, Ca. 1929 to Gwendolyn Buttle Stonesifer and Clarence A. Stonesifer both 3rd generation Californians. She began her working career at the U.S Geological Survey (USGS) for 7 years. She met her husband Durward Bruce Swinehart at Grant Technical College after his discharge from the U. S. Army. Jeanne married Bruce and was married for 72 years. She and Bruce had two boys, Bill and Bob. Jeanne went back to school attending California State University of Sacramento and received her teaching credential in 1966. She taught grade school children for 25 years and especially loved teaching kindergarten. She retired in 1991. Jeanne went on to purchase the house she grew up in and made it their forever home.

Jeanne loved many things including sewing, stamp collecting, camping, religious retreats, and animals including dogs, cats, and rabbits. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren Rebecca, Kara, and Karine. Jeanne was very charitable to animal and religious organization's. She was especially fond of Joyce Meyer and Kenneth Copeland. Jeanne also loved hosting parties and get togethers including bridge, New Year's, Christmas, and birthdays. She wanted her family and friends to spend time together.

Jeanne and Bruce centered their activities around their boys' activities including camping, Little League, Boy Scouts (Bruce, Bill, and Bob are Eagle Scouts). They loved their cabin in Arnold, Ca and loved to spend time in South Lake Tahoe, Palm Springs, and Las Vegas. Bruce and Jeanne were very active in organizations including Sacramento Science Center, Audubon Society, California Retired Teacher's Association, and Camp Farthest Out.

Jeanne is survived by son's Willian (Lori), Robert (Jill), grandchildren Rebecca Vande Brake (Tristan), Kara Swinehart, Karine Swinehart, and great grandchild Rackley Vande Brake. Jeanne was preceded in death by husband Durward Bruce Swinehart.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 14th @ 10:00 a.m. at the Lind Brothers Funeral Home, 4221 Manzanita Avenue, Carmichael.
