Clara Pantages
February 25, 1934 - September 3, 2023
Carmichael, California - On September 3, 2023, Clara Pantages passed away peacefully in Cameron Park, CA, after a brief battle with cancer. She was 89 years old. She was preceded in death by her son, Jim Pantages Jr., her parents, Antonio and Mary Gomes, her stepfather, John Thomas, and her brother, Tony Gomes. Clara was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on February 25, 1934, and moved to Oakland, California at the age of 20. It was there that she met Jim, her loving husband of 60 years. A caring and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, her greatest love was her family. Over the years, Clara was a steadfast supporter of her kids' and grandkids' activities, including sporting events and music performances. She was a loyal friend to many, including the wonderful group of women she met while her children were attending Billy Mitchell Elementary School in Sacramento. One of these friends once described her as an "angel on earth", which we think portrays her perfectly. Clara is survived by her husband Jim Pantages, her children Tina (Dean) and Suzanne, her grandchildren Katie, Megan, Amanda, Corey, her brother, Jay Thomas, and six nieces and nephews. Thank you to her caregivers at Blissful Gardens who showed her endless amounts of love and compassion during her short stay there.
